Switch Made has retrofitted the façade lighting of Dubai Mall, it has been revealed.

The France-headquartered lighting manufacturer said in a statement that it carried out value engineering for the new façade lighting of the world’s largest mall to give the property “a youthful and modern visual identity”.

Switch Made provided a lighting package that included LED modules, projectors, and cove linear lights.

Close to 52,000 LED luminaires were installed, creating a dynamic façade that spans 10,000m, according to the company, adding that the retrofit lighting systems were custom-made for the mall, with the aim of reducing the energy consumption of its façade lighting by 40-50%.

Jeremy Loisel, chief executive officer of Switch Made, said: “As a French company, we are committed to the vision of the government to enhance our international outreach. Building on the strong bilateral relations between France and the UAE, we see a significant opportunity to partner in major infrastructure projects in the country.

“This is highlighted by the completion of the new energy-efficient façade lighting solution at Dubai Mall. We managed the project end-to-end, from design to value engineering, installation and support on-site, highlighting our integrated approach to project delivery.
